About Fiona

Fiona's interest in occupational therapy started in high school, when she au-paired for a child with autism. She went on to study Occupational Therapy and graduated from Wits University. She completed her community service in Zululand, KZN, before moving to Pietermaritzburg where she worked in a school for the blind for five years. It was in Boston, USA, that she furthered her studies in the education of the blind, visually-impaired and children with a range of multiple disabilities.

For the past few years, Fiona has been working in private practice assessing and treating children with learning, developmental and sensory difficulties. She is passionate about building each child’s self-esteem and is inspired when she witnesses their individual growth and development. She is currently at the tail end of completing her Sensory Integration training.
