Study skills enable you to study and learn efficiently. Study skills enable more efficient learning. Without effective study skills, it is easy to feel overwhelmed and discouraged. Our aim is to develop adequate study habits and teach study skills that will support children throughout their academic career, and equip them to face future learning. Furthermore, we aim to foster independent learning and thinking.

Developing study skills incorporates improving executive functions as well as the following essential skills:

  • Organisational Skills
  • Time management
  • Exposure to different learning styles
  • Memory techniques
  • Summary techniques

Effective learning involves more than reading through and memorising content. Learners need to work through, organise, question and summarise work in a way that transfers learning from their working memory to their long-term memory. These skills need to be fostered and practiced from a young age to promote independent learning throughout one’s life.
